DC Learn is our learning and engagement programme for families, young people and our communities in Devonshire ward.
Our programmes are free, artist-led, inclusive, and open-access. We believe regular activity is important, so our programmes are structured weekly or monthly and require no particular experience or skills to attend.
We run a range of free family and community workshops at our gallery VOLT and DC Learn Studio as well as regular activities for people of all ages and all walks of life. Visit our What’s On page to take a look.
We aim to respond to gaps in cultural provision for our local community, and therefore currently focus on early years, children, teachers and the most marginalised communities in the ward, in particular, refugees and asylum seekers. DC is one of only two Arts Award Centres in Eastbourne.
DC Learn programming currently comprises:
Contact Creative Learning Manager Gina Leonard to enquire or make a booking.

Free, after school art group every Tuesday for 6–11’s for Networx registered families only.

A weekly art course for 6–11’s. We will cover both 2D and 3D work with a variety of painting, drawing, collage, mixed media, and building a personal sketchbook to keep.

The Thinking Hand is a process-led exhibition by artists Tanvi Kant, Richard Phoenix, Tom Pope and Anne-Marie Watson. The project unfolds through participation and exchange, engaging with our neighbourhood and local communities, turning Devonshire Collective’s gallery into a site of shared making.

We are collaborating on a major project, with Photoworks, BACKLIT and Aspex, exploring queer and feminist photography in response to the archive of artist and activist Tessa Boffin.
